Mindful Breathing Meditation is the easiest way to start a formal mindfulness meditation practice. It consists of focusing attention on the breath and observing what happens as we try to keep it there. Whenever the mind wanders, all we have to do is gently bring it back to the breath, suspending judgments and accepting our experience of the moment as it is, without expectations.
Be careful, however, that it is not a question of “thinking” about the breath, but of feeling it, of simply following the sensations that accompany it.
